Role Specific Training!

Tuesday 27th May 2014 –Role Specific Training! The Journey Continues ...

On Monday 26th May I left Birmingham and travelled to Glasgow. I was staying at a Premier Inn in the city centre. After a good nights sleep I left my hotel at 8.00am. I walked to the station to catch a train to Mount Florida (A station I would really get used to). Then after a little walk I arrived at the Hampden Park (the home of the Scotland National Team).

The day was split into two parts. First up in the morning session it was a general introduction to my Clyde-Sider role , the afternoon was all about my Print Distribution role.

The morning session was delivered at a lively pace – lots of information about general games time stuff – by  two engaging  & entertaining FrontRunner presenters supported by two others who managed a very light hearted competition with us. I was part of Team Australia but our team lost.

The afternoon session was equally information packed, this time in a smaller group, about 15 of us. The session was hosted & presented by the Print Distribution workforce manager.  He took us through what was expected of a Team Leader Print Distribution member. From the different reports we would get to some of the clients we would have to delivered to and all the different devices that record the results of the different events. We also had a break for lunch half way through the session. At the end of the session we had a practice of using a radio! We had to commuicate with another member of the group!

It was a good training session and provided me with a better knowledge of what I was going to be doing at games times! A lot of information taken in so time to get my head around it!

After a journey back to the city centre,it was time to go back home. So I took a bus back to the airport and then a plane back to Birmingham!

My next training sessions are at the end of June (Leadership and Venue Training)!
